Ten (or, well, Nine) Day Countdown

|

I can't even count the number of days since I first came to Innisdale. Hundreds. Hundreds of days of sitting in class, watching the seasons change, listening to the teachers talk, waiting for the day to end. I never thought I'd make it through all of those days.

Just a year ago, the newspaper was brand-new, and I was still president-elect, riding a slim margin to victory. I was excited. I had taken my SATs, wrapped up my classes and was getting ready for summer. Right now, my life really isn't that different. My summer's going to be shorter, and my classes have been harder, but Grade 12 has been a pretty straightforward year.

I'm happy to be leaving, to be quite honest. I'll miss Innisdale, but it's time that I got on with my life (a sentiment that I imagine my grademates share). There's a whole big world out there, and I need to be a part of it.

A few words of advice for any kids coming back to Innisdale: join a club, try your hardest, don't lose focus. Those are the keys to success, and you all possess them. Good luck with everything, Innisdale, and only change for the better.
