Review: Go Ask Alice

|

"Go Ask Alice", by an anonymous author, is the real life diary of a girl's journey into the world of drugs. This thrilling account of the horrors of drugs had me turning the pages until I couldn't stay up any longer. Set in the late 1960s, this 15 year old girl is slipped LSD at a party. She describes the experience of being high to her diary, explaining how she doesn't understand how it could be illegal. She is quickly sucked into the world of drugs, and soon runs away from home. Her life is ruined and taken away from her all because of the one accident.

"Go Ask Alice" was a major eye-opener for me. While reading, I was amazed by the things that this real life person went through. It is a very exciting book that I recommend for any high school student. It is very educational and makes you realize how iniquitous drugs are. The author is listed as anonymous, another intriguing mystery that the novel presented.

This novel was one of the books discussed at Innisdale's Book Club. This genre is one of the many we divulge into. Sound interesting to you? Speak to Mme. Ffrench or Ms. Heikamp for more details or join in at the next meeting.

Overall, "Go Ask Alice" was an extremely interesting and real life story. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars, and highly recommend it.
