Over 10 million schools have participated in this fundraiser. The change collected goes to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which started raising funds in 1954.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization that provides money to blood cancer research, education, and services for blood cancer patients. The society has provided over $680 million to blood cancer research. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's mission is to "...cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families." The little amount of change in your pocket can make a significant difference in someone's life that has been affected by blood cancer.
