The Youth Philanthropy Initiative is a program that awards money to grassroots charities based on student projects. The final judging was held on April 28, when grade 10 students with top presentations from their civics classes spoke about their chosen charities in the Little Theatre. Congratulations to Caitlyn Chard, Hailey Marshall and Emily Bailey (not present) for earning a $5000 cheque for the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. This Barrie charity provides services for children who have lost a loved one, and helps them to mourn and cope safely. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and thanks also to the judges, civics teachers, and spectators that came to the presentation.
