The Power of Pink

|

As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "I want freedom for the full expression of my personality." The Gay-Straight Alliance at Innisdale follows this mantra; the students of the club believe in celebrating and supporting everyone's uniqueness and respecting everyone's sexual preference.

Looking for ways to get involved and show your support? On Wednesday April 12th, Innisdale students are encouraged by the Gay-Straight Alliance to wear pink. This pink, worn by both males and females on "Pink Day", represents anti-bullying. Another way to create awareness around the school is by participating in the "Day of Silence" event, on Friday April 14th. The Day of Silence, which is taking place on the National Day of Silence, educates students about name-calling, bullying, harassment and tolerance of all types of people.

Everyone deserves the right to feel accepted and respected in our Innisdale community. Do your part on Wednesday, April 12th and Friday, April 14th!
