Innisdale still dominates badminton

|

The 'big orange machine' is back in full force for another great year! Innisdale's badminton team had a great showing at the regional tournaments last week. The senior team traveled to Banting Memorial High School and out of 16 players, 10 made the top three! This means that they will go on to compete at the GBSSA championships. In the boys singles category, Steve Campbell won second place, as did Grace Lu in girls singles. For mixed doubles, Becky Aubin and Dan Steffens placed third. Justine McNichol and Kaila Nault were third in girls doubles, and in the boys category, Ryan Fedrigo and Cole Tomlinson came second. The tournament MVPs were Christopher Graham and Mathew Lund, the boys doubles champions.

The Juniors competed on home court at Innisdale a few days later and 11 out of 16 players went on to GB's! In boys singles, Keegan Beauliel placed third, as did boys doubles players Dean Heliotis and Brandon Harvey. The mixed doubles teams owned the competition, with Samantha Wellbelove and Yinka Oyebanjo-Odofin gaining silver and Emily Adams and Robert Adams winning first place. The boys doubles team of Cam Emmott and Jason Duiella also won first place. In girls doubles, Joanne Cheng and RuiLin Guo fought their way to second place, and will take top spot at GB's. Congratulations to all members of Innisdale's badminton team and good luck!
