Food for Thought

Do you realize that in Germany, students start school at the same time as us, have the same number of classes as us and still get out at one o'clock? "How is this?" you may ask.

In Germany, lunch is the most important meal of the day. So important, actually, that when the town's bell strikes one everyone leaves what they are doing to go eat. Instead of eating lunch at school, they simply wait and have lunch after school. This means they get out a whole period earlier. Now imagine how our day would be if we got out an hour and fifteen minutes earlier.

Every day at lunch time I hear people complaining about how long and boring lunch is. Everyone always seems to have 'the boring lunch'. But if everyone says they have 'the boring lunch' then where is the fun lunch? It appears that no one is enjoying this hour and fifteen minute nutrition period, so why not just get rid of it?
