This past Friday at Innisdale, the Gay-Straight Alliance held Innisdale's first Rainbow Day. As a part of their campaign against homosexual bullying, which has seen the installation of numerous posters decrying the use of the words 'faggot', 'dyke' and 'gay', the spirit day was designed to raise Invader awareness of our school's sexual diversity.
While few students observed the event by dressing up, the message was felt throughout the school. There is a large gay, lesbian and bisexual community here at Innisdale, and hopefully they will be able to be happy and free from bullying, thanks to the efforts of the Gay-Straight Alliance.
